Listening Walk #WLD2014

On Friday, July 18 Soundtrackcity organizes a listening walk to celebrate World Listening Day for the second year in a row.
World Listening Day is an initiative of the World Listening Project (WLP) and takes place annually on July 18. On this day walks are organized globaly to create awareness of the soundscape of our surroundings.
During this silent walk you’ll be guided by Soundtrackcity along an interesting route through a series of diverse urban ambiances. We will be listening to the urban sounds at hand without headphones. We will tune in to our sounding environment which confronts us daily and which we normally ignore. The city of Amsterdam is full of beautiful, eery, mysterious, subtle or harsh sounds, Let’s hear them!
On our way we do some simple exercises that focus on the conscious perception of your surroundings. Afterwards there will be an opportunity for exchange and a participant of our WLD walk last year will talk about how the soundscape along the route has developed in a year.
reservations
The walk starts at half past nine pm and lasts approximately 50 minutes. Starting point: Berlage Monument, Victorieplein, 1078 PD Amsterdam (at the foot of ‘De Wolkenkrabber’(The Skyscraper)). Participation 5 euros. Only on enrollment. RSVP via info@soundtrackcity.nl
