Pinar Cevikayak Yelmi was born in 1985, in Istanbul. Pinar has received her bachelor degree in Industrial Design at METU, Ankara and masters degree in Communication Design at POLIMI, Milano. Currently, Pinar is a PhD candidate in Design, Technology and Society at Koc University.

Soundsslike is a project focusing on urban sounds which reflect the culture and the daily life of cities. Soundsslike is open to any contribution and aims to collect sounds from anywhere in the world.
