Cork — Ireland
I am an ethnomusicologist, mostly concerned with North African music and society. Currently teaching Media at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, Ireland. My interest in field recording/soundscape is both analytical (for academic purposes) and synthetic, for creative applications. A range of works, most employing manipulated found sounds, can be found at http://soundcloud.com/tony-langlois
Description of work with field recording
This is an untreated recording made in a Mexico City park in 2010. The voices of the birds and food vendors remind me (on a sonic level only) of Stephen Feld's work in papua New Guinea.
