As a new platform dedicated to record and contextualization of oral,musical and in soundscapes sound, the Arquivo Sonoro/Pernes/Sound Archive would like to count with your interest and colaboration to/in promotion/spread is work: aspsa.tk.

Pernes town hall, belonging to Santarém Council, is a rural area surrounded by Alviela River, Centeio River and the National Reserve of Serra de Aire e Candeeiros and Paúl do Boquilobo in Portugal`s central region. Pernes is 14.500Km2 and has a population of 1689, and the villages of Chã de Baixo, Outeiro de Fora, Moita and Póvoa das Mós encompass it.

Through the use of Phonography and Field Recordings of sound and contextualization: oral, musical and environmental, the Sound Archive of Pernes registers these traditions – social, political and economic elements differentiating features of their own identity. This Bioacoustical and Anthropological point of view is registered and filed and is publicly accessible online. It is used to conserve transitive sound and visual memory.
