Antoine Bertin
London — United Kingdom
Biography
Antoine Bertin is an artist and engineer working with sound. His practice is driven by nostalgia and is made of soundwalks, field recordings, radio pieces or installation work. Antoine is interested in spatial and temporal distance between places, and in finding ways of (re) connecting these spaces through sound, physically and emotionally.
Description of work with field recording
Exploration IV Invisible Soundscapes consists of a series of 5 compositions. Using microphones, home-made radio transmitters and helium balloons, the artist has been collecting sounds from London and above in the process of trying to attain spaces located outside of our reach. The result was published in the form of a book accompanied by a cd and where the 5 explorations were documented through photography and text.
