Description of work with field recording
Using field recording as both documents of sound events or audio sketches intended to capture a particular sonic phenomena, and as a source for material to be later used within compositions or as elements in sound design. This recording was made as part of a 2009 project documenting the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok, Thailand. Utilising a homemade hydrophone and contact mic to simultaneously record two mono signals.This is 28 second excerpt looped to create a 2 minute sonic snapshot of the Saphan Phut Pier as it is rocked and buffeted by the traffic that navigates the busy waterway.
