Welcome to Sounds of Europe, a platform for field
recording. The blog of the website will travel to a different European country
every month where a local organisation or artist will be responsible for
maintaining it. Each country´s particular context and practices with regards to
field recording will be explored and presented in a personal way.

Aernoudt Jacobs / Lauf der Lärm
11/04/2011 · julia@q-o2
I have visited Aernoudt Jacobs in his exhibition Lauf der Lärm which is taking place until 13/11/11 at Stuk in Leuven, about 20 km from Brussels, featuring four of his installations, two of which are just recently finished.
Aernoudt is working regularly with field recordings, but more as an inspiration then directly with the sound itself. Good examples of this way of working are ‘Permafrost’ in which he makes audible the sound of freezing water and ‘Miniatuur’ in which he referes to the situation of windstillness, but also uses the sounds of that specific moment.
