Welcome to Sounds of Europe, a platform for field recording. The blog of the website will travel to a different European country every month where a local organisation or artist will be responsible for maintaining it. Each country´s particular context and practices with regards to field recording will be explored and presented in a personal way.
The Uses and Abuses of Field recording – part 2
02/05/2012 · Cathy

The Uses and Abuses of Field Recording was a pechakucha 20×20 event organised by CRiSAP (Creative Research in Sound Arts Practice)in London in June 2011. There were 8 UK based presenters all of which gave a short talk – 6mins 40 – the time it takes for 20 slides to play for 20 seconds each. Viewed together they give a great introduction to a variety of field recording practices.
The final four video presentations (the 20 slides and the audio) from Felicity Ford, Peter Cusack, Ruth Hawkins and Bill Thompson are below. The other four are in the previous blog post.
